If you have lived in Germany even for one month, you would also know how much a normal German person values his influence on anything. He doesn't simply swallow the things he does not like but rather makes a huge deal out of it. Whereas my fellow people in Russia hardly complain because we don´t believe we are significant enough to change anything being "just" a private consumer.
Having lived in Germany for 5 years I have however emerged into a complete self-centered and really demanding consumer aware of my customer power. A paperless life that I try to live has therefore forced me to respond to stone-age communication ways per post that many institutes and companies still use.
One example:
Danske Bank where I have opened an online account has sent me a paper that I had to sign and send back. It took 1 month until I got this paper per Swedish post. It will take time until the signed paper goes back to the bank, and then this bank will send me some codes, which will probably also take some time. Waste of resources and time. Moreover I got a "codebox" from them, that is a separate device, packed in a 5 times bigger carton than the device itself, with a plastic container as a bonus. Sorry, the time when I was happy to receive stuff is long over, so I sent the container and the bonus back with a suggestion to switch onto a modern online/cloud/iphone style.
How about you, do you think you play a major role as a consumer of services and products? If yes, what are your favorite principles?
