RUSSIAN MOVING TO SWEDEN WITH A WORK PERMISSION

not that easy, but here are the steps I am going through:
  1. Get a Uppehållstillstånd (residence and work permit) at www.migrationsverket.se. To get it you will need a job description from your company, a confirmation from a Swedish union, some scanned docs and fingerprints&foto at one of the consulates of a country where you lived before moving to Sweden (I went to Hamburg Swedish consulate). I got the permit card within one month. Attention: make sure your passport expires no shorter than in one year. The further the expiration date the better, otherwise you will get a limited Uppehållstillstånd and will have to reapply sooner.
  2. Now that you can enter Sweden, you would have to apply for Personnummer at www.skatteverket.se. Every Swede has it. It takes 2-6 weeks until you get it.
  3. Once you have Personnummer, you are actually considered a living person and can for example open your bank account (I usedwww.finansportalen.se to find the best savings account interest without any charges). Don´t forget to get e-legitimation to make your life e asier - you can open bank accounts etc online from anywhere. I used www.telia.se to buy e-legitimation (around 50€), as I already bought my company sim-card with them.
  4. Now it´s time for www.forsakringskassan.se where I got the number for the social insurance (1 month processing time).
  5. Flat insurance, unemployment insurance, and you can consider yourself a Swede ;)

One thing at a time!
